The key to maintaining a healthy septic system is thorough routine septic pumping. In Virginia, the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act, requires septic tank cleaning every 3–5 years. Should your system experience a higher than normal volume of use, this frequency should be increased to every 3 years and if so the Pump Chamber should be cleaned every other time that the septic tank is serviced. If your septic tank is equipped with an effluent filter, it is recommended cleaning this component every 6 months. We do our part by only disposing of waste water at official facilities and providing the proper documentation.

This cuts down on labor costs associated with digging and tank location efforts. These savings can be substantial when timely tank evaluation is required for emergency service, or even during the performance of routine pumping and maintenance. Effluent filters may be added to your tank as well to prohibit the introduction of flow inhibiting solids into the distribution box and drainfield. Many common septic systems in Virginia operate with a chamber that houses a pump and alarm system. Pumps vary in size and cost depending on pumping distance and elevation. An alarm sounding on your system could mean just a bad alarm float, or possibly a failing pump, so give us a call so we can diagnose the problem and recommend the best solution.
PUMP AND HAUL CONTRACTS
We are available for pump and haul service as required by the local health department. When your system stops working and you are faced with mandatory, more frequent septic cleaning, we'll be happy to set up a contract to perform regularly scheduled pumping, and submit the proper documentation to local health officials.
